Summer – CW – drabble
In a moment children will splash, friends will laugh, voices will rise and fall.
In a moment Frisbees will fly, dogs will leap, water will slap the shore.
In a moment wind will sigh, leaves will stir, smoke will bend above the grill.
In a moment tails will wag, tongues will loll, nails will click on wooden boards.
In a moment kayaks will be dragged across the sand, keels will rock in shallow water while paddles dip and pull.
In a moment all the sounds of summer will be heard.
But for now, for just a moment, everything is still.
